ZAMBOANGA CITY, Nov 21 (PIA) -- With the aim to give Filipinos better access to the healthcare services provided by the government, Senator Bong Go, Chairman of the Committee on Health and Sports, tells Zamboangueños that a Super Health Center will be put up in Zamboanga City, during his visit to the flood victims on Friday.

“Dito po sa Zamboanga ay magkakaroon rin ng karagdagang hospital, Super Health Center at Malasakit Center. Yun ang gusto kong ipagpatuloy dahil gusto ko na palakasin ang ating health care system,” Sen. Go said.

(Here in Zamboanga there will also be additional hospitals, a Super Health Center, and Malasakit Center. That's what I want to continue because I want to strengthen our health care system.)

The Super Health Center will complement the Malasakit Centers in Zamboanga City Medical Center, Mindanao Central Sanitarium, and Labuan General Hospital.

It will have services like lab facilities, a pharmacy, birthing facilities, an outpatient department, dental services, a comprehensive PhilHealth outpatient department, and other minor services.

The Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) of the Department of Health (DOH) will hold the construction and equipping of these centers.

Meanwhile, Senator Go encourages residents in Zamboanga City who have patients that are in need of heart operations and those in need of a prosthesis to bring them to Manila and assured them that they will help with the hospitalization and fare.

Senator Bong Go, together with Senator Robin Padilla visited Zamboanga City on November 18, 2022, to extend help to the victims of typhoon Paeng from the barangays of Pasonanca, Talon- Talon, Malagutay, Talisayan, and Tetuan. More than a thousand beneficiaries gathered in the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) gymnasium to receive assistance such as food packs, t-shirts, face masks, vitamins, bicycles, phones, shoes for men and women, basketball, volleyball, umbrellas, meals, and burgers for kids. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), under its Assistance to individuals in crisis situations (AICS) program, has also distributed Php 5,000 per beneficiary. (NBE/EDT/CCP/PIA9)
