Before the opening of the event, a solidarity meeting for tournament managers and coaches was conducted and was followed by a grand parade that passed through the main thoroughfares of Lingayen.

She said the SCUAA aims to promote physical education and encourage sports activities in all higher education institutions.

She added that the sports, arts and cultural activities under the SCUAA also aims to promote camaraderie among the student-athletes and their coaches, instill discipline, and strengthen the special bond among the SUCs in the region.

The SCUAA, which is under the umbrella of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC), is anchored in this year’s theme: “Renewed Strength and Aspiration Towards a Stable and Progressive Society.” (JCR/AMB/EMSA/PIA Pangasinan)
