90 KKDAT officers, members undergo basic life support, first aid training

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - At least 90 Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) officers and members have undergone a two-day training on Basic Life Support and First Aid.

The training was conducted on November 19-20, 2022 in the town of Roxas particularly at the town’s central school by the IPPO Police Community Affairs and Development Unit (PCADU) and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Roxas.

The KKDAT officers and members who have undergone the training came from the towns of Roxas, Burgos, San Manuel, Quirino, Mallig, Quezon, Aurora, and San Isidro respectively. 

IPPO PCADU Deputy chief Capt. Mauricio Galiza said the training aims to provide the KKDAT officers and members with basic knowledge on basic life support and first aid application to be used in their respective places especially those who need emergencies and in times of calamities.

He said the KKDAT organization is a partner of the IPPO in its many programs and activities, especially in the suppression of illegal drug activities and anti-terrorism campaigns.

During the 2-day training,  a lecture on Basic Life Support and Emergency Action Principles was conducted by MDRRMO Roxas personnel where basic bandaging was taught while on the second day, the KKDAT officers and members conducted an actual demonstration on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) application and proper carrying techniques to an injured person.
