BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA ) - - At least 200 farmers in the province recently completed their agricultural courses at the Farmers Field School (FFS) of the Tam-an Agri-Tech Tourism and Training Center (TATTTC) here.
The graduates received their certificates after finishing their courses on the Production of High-Quality Inbred Rice and Seed Certification and Farm Mechanization through the TATTTC.
Marietta Salviejo, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial director, praised the farmers for advancing their skills for agriculture development and agribusiness prospects in the province and committed the support of the agency to the graduates.
“Once or sometimes in our lives, we will need a doctor, a policeman, a lawyer, a teacher, an engineer, but everyday, three times a day, we need a farmer,” she said.
The graduation program for the 200 farmers were also highlighted with the launching of Tam-an’s Farm Tourism and Forest Adventure which was attended by officials and representatives of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), provincial government, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), NV Learning Site for Agriculture Association, Inc.(NVLSAAI) and the Department of Agriculture - Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI), among others.
The FFS was established to provide additional knowledge, best practices, and skills to farmer-beneficiaries in the province inorder to raise their capability through various agricultural technologies. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
