Iligan CPOC council members craft POPS Plan

ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--Members of the City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) here gathered to participate in a two-day planning workshop on Nov. 15 to formulate the Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan for the term 2023-2025.

Mayor Frederick Siao said that peace and order are the foundation of development and that “there can never be a genuine development without peace. Peace can only be achieved if all stakeholders of development in society come together in threading a way for sustainable progress.”

Meanwhile, City Administrator Darwin Manubag cited the significance of familiarity of the members to the direction in aligning it to their plans.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government - Iligan City provided technical assistance in crafting the said plan.

DILG-Iligan Director Maria Maida Daniot cited the importance of improving performance on peace and order.

“The effectiveness of services that we deliver to the people depends on the quality of plans,” she said.

Members of the CPOC include the Iligan City Police Office, 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, civil society organizations, local government units of Iligan, and the Philippine Information Agency, among others.
