CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – To address a long-standing problem on power supply, the Oriental Mindoro Electric Cooperative (ORMECO), Inc. has opened bidding to the public for an additional supply of power in Oriental Mindoro.
Ormeco General Manager Humphrey A. Dolor said the Power Supply Agreement (PSA) is valid until the year 2030. He said bidders were given a chance to submit their letter of intent together with the payment of P300,000 as participation fee to the Third Party Bids and Awards Committee of Ormeco. Acceptance for the letter of intent started last November 24 and will end on December 12, 2022.
The opening of the bid is set on January 10, 2023 and the winning bidder will be announced on January 24-26, 2023.
Dolor said the signing of PSA and Universal Charge for Missionary Electrification Agreement is to be held on February 4-8, 2023 while the filing of the petition of the Joint Energy Regulatory Commission for the approval of PSA is on February 9, 2023.
Dolor assured consumers that ORMECO is fixing the problem of the frequent power outages; and hopeful on reaching long-term solutions for Oriental Mindoro. (LTC/PIA-OrMin)
