LAMUT, Ifugao (PIA) - - The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has provided more assistance to two farmers organizations in Mayoyao town recently.
The DAR – Ifugao turned-over to the Alimit Agrarian Reform Farmers Organization (AARFO) farm machinery and equipment worth Php163, 150.00 and inputs for their swine raising worth Php151, 000.00 through the Sustainable Livelihood Support to Disaster Affected Areas (SLSDAA).
SLDAA is under the Climate Resiliency & Farm Productivity Support Program (CRFPSP) of the department. The program is geared towards building resiliency in the agrarian communities through the enhancement of productivity as an adaption measure for climate change.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Atty. Raul C. Laluan reminded the organization to take good care of the things they have received from the government and to share this blessing with other farmers.
The Trust Agreement between the DAR and AARFO that consists of the duties and responsibilities of the agency and the organization was also signed during the turnover ceremony.
DAR – Ifugao Division Chief Leonor C. Bascos explained the trust agreement and underscored the proper utilization and management of the equipment including the proper recording of transactions.
The DAR -Ifugao also granted Php39, 000.00 worth of broiler for raw material sustainability to four members of the Solid Rock Multi-purpose Cooperative for chicken-pork longanisa processing. The income generating activity allows rotation and growth revenue to SRMPC members in a very short period of time. (JDP/MBL-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
