Former rebels receive livelihood starter kits from DTI

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - Three former rebels who are now at the custody of the 86th Infantry Battalion in Jones, Isabela received livelihood starter kits from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) region 2.

The DTI’s provision of livelihood starter kits, particularly carpentry tools, supports Executive Order No. 70 or the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) of the government.

Negosyo Center Junior Business Counselor Rasaimay Manuel led the awarding of livelihood starter kits to the rebels, accompanied by 86th Infantry Battalion officials.

Manuel also conducted lecture on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to jumpstart their livelihood.

She said the provision of the kits is part of the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster's initiated programs for former rebels.

Manuel said that the DTI will continue to provide assistance to Former Rebels for their integration to the mainstream society and for them to have sustainable income for their families.  (OTB/MGE / PIA Isabela)
