NAPOLCOM Ilocos conducts PNP entrance, promotional exams

SAN FERNANDO CITY (PIA) —The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Region 1 conducted the pen-and-paper  Philippine National Police (PNP) Entrance and Promotional Examinations in this city on December 3 and 4.

As per Republic Act No. 6975, section 30, as amended by Republic Act No. 8551, the PNP entrance eligibility is a gateway for appointment to the rank of patrolman/woman.

"Sa promotional exam naman is for promotion para tumaas ang kanilang rank sa PNP," Atty. Joseph Apolonio, information officer of NAPOLCOM Region 1, said during his interview with PIA.

The PNP entrance examination was conducted at La Union National High School with actual examinee turnout of 586.

“Sa promotional examination naman, which is conducted at Lingsat Integrated School, we have 466 registered uniformed examinees. All in all, we have 1,052 examinees here in region 1,”  said Apolonio.

Examinees were also reminded to  secure the Notice of Admission (NOA) and Examinee Profile Sheet (EPS) prior to their exams.

Lawyer Joseph Apolonio, information officer of National Police Commission-Region 1, reiterates the new process of application for the PNP Entrance and Promotional examinations on December 3 and 4.

Moreover, he reiterated the new web-based process of application.

“These December 2022 PNP entrance and promotional examinations, nagkaroon po tayo ng bagong process which is called NAPOLCOM Online Registration Information System (NORIS), which  is formerly called On-Line Exam Application Scheduling System (OLEASS), na kung saan dito mo pwedeng maiprint ang NOA at EPS,” Apolonio said.

Applicants were obliged to create their account for the submission of their requirements.

“Hindi na kailangang dala-dala ‘yong buong documents mo para pumunta sa tanggapan ng NAPOLCOM para magpa-validate, and good thing is makikita na rin sa kanilang NORIS account ang room assignment at seat number,” he added.

Meanwhile, Apolonio said the number of testing sites were set to ensure the observance of safety protocols.

Fully vaccinated examinees were urged to present their vaccination card while a negative RT-PCR or antigen test result issued within the last 72 hours will be required for the unvaccinated.

Prescribed attire must be worn during the examination particularly a plain white shirt with black pants and shoes for entrance examinees while the GOA Type B uniform is for promotional examinees.

Examinees not in proper attire will not be allowed to enter the examination venue.

“Paalala lang po na ang sino man sa examinees na hindi sumunod sa ating rules and advisories shall be automatically disqualified,” Apolonio said.

Further, he said the examinations were coordinated with the City Government of San Fernando, the Provincial Government of La Union, Police Regional Office 1, and La Union Police.

“On behalf of NAPOLCOM Region 1, we would like to extend our gratitude to the school administrators of the two venues, and the teachers who served as proctors,” he said. (JCR/AMB/KJCR, PIA La Union)
