BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The province has been recognized for sustaining its Nutrition Honor Award (NHA) by the National Nutrition Council (NNC) in Cagayan Valley.
The nutrition honor maintenance award which was conferred in Cauayan City was received by former Governor and Abot Palad Provincial President Ruth Raña Padilla who represents non-government organizations (NGOs) in the Provincial Nutrition Committee (PNC) along with Provincial Administrator Maybelle Dumlao Sevillena, Board Member Eunice Galima Gambol, Chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan’s Committee on Health, and Provincial Nutrition Officer Luzviminda P. Ragpa.
“It’s an honor for our beloved province to receive its second year NHA mentainance award which serves as a testament of our collaborative hardwork in providing quality health programs to Novo Vizcayanos”,former Gov. Padilla said.
The LGUs of Ambaguio and Santa Fe were recognized as first year Green Banner Awardees while the LGUs of Dupax del Norte, Kasibu and Villaverde got the second year Green Banner Award.
Ragpa, the Provincial Nutrition Officer said four nutrition program workers in the province were also recognized such as : 1st Runner-up - Regional Outstanding District Nutrition Program Coordinator (DNPC) for Ruben Ramuel C. Ambatali II of the Provincial NUtrition Office, 2nd Runner-up - Regional Outstanding Local Nutrition Action Officer for Dr. Mary Ruth Reyes, Municipal Nutrition Action Officer of Dupax del Norte and 1st Runner-up - Regional Outstanding Local Nutrition Program Coordinator for Shimelei Infante, Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinator of Kasibu.
The NNC also recognized the province’s Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar - Jennifer R. Collado of barangay Wacal in Solano town and Jenick Tagao, Ponz Rhudolf Torres, Mark Kevein De Asis, Janice Julian, Mark Klein Inocencio, and Marcelino Pait of the Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) as 2nd Place in the 2022 Nutrition Month Regional Short Film Competition.
Ragpa said the NNC Awarding Program seeks to recognize and honor LGUs, Local Nutrition Focal Persons, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, and other Nutrition stakeholders for their excellent work on nutrition program implementation.(MDCT/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
