Serbisyo Caravan brings hope, joy to the people of Albarka, Basilan

ISABELA CITY, Basilan, Dec. 05 (PIA) –The different stakeholders in Basilan converged and conducted Serbisyo Caravan in Magcawa, Albarka to bring government services closer to the community and in solidarity to their 17th Founding Anniversary on Dec. 1.

More than 500 children in the said municipality received gift items like school supplies, shoes, vitamins and food packs from different agencies and organizations who participated and extended their support during the Serbisyo Caravan dubbed “Magtuhut tuhut ngurung kahapan si Albarka (Sabay sabay tayo magbigay tulong sa Albarka)”.

Meanwhile, other constituents also benefitted from free medical and dental services, free circumcision, family planning provision and hair-cut.

Other government agencies like the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), Technical Education and Skills Development (TESDA) and the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE) also conducted orientation on their respective agency’s programs and services.

The local government of Albarka through Mayor Jaydeefar Lajid expressed joy and gratitude to all agencies, organizations and individuals who have provided various services to the people of Albarka during their 17th Founding Anniversary. He stressed that this is the first time that they are visited with different agencies and also the first time to celebrate their Founding Anniversary since Albarka was established as municipality of Basilan.

“Isa lang po ito sa ating mga pangarap para sa mga mamamayan ng Albarka. Nakita natin na wala palang imposible kung lahat ay magkaisa, magsama-sama at magtulungan. Pangarap rin natin na balang araw magkaroon tayo ng maraming mga professional dito sa Albarka,” Mayor Jajid said.

Basilan Governor Jim Salliman who graced the opening program, lauded the officials and constituents of Albarka that for the first time they were able to celebrate their founding anniversary. He also expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who participated in the Serbisyo Caravan that brought government services closer to the people of Albarka. He also encouraged everyone to stay united to sustain the gains of peace not only in Albarka but in the whole province.

“I am elated, masaya ako na malaman at makita ko na ngayon ay magdiriwang ang Albarka ng Founding Anniversary. Nagpapasalamat din tayo sa lahat ng mga agencies na nandito ngayon and alam natin that they are always behind the provincial government,” Governor Salliman expressed.

In his message of support, Assistant Regional Director Rene V. Carbayas of PIA-IX challenged the people of Albarka to hold on to the dream of peace and stressed that sustaining the gains of peace reside first on the hands of the people of Albarka.

Other guests include BGEN Domingo Gobway, Commander JTF Basilan, PCOL Carlos Madronio of Basilan Police Provincial Office, Dr. Abulkhair Tarason from Basilan Ulama Supreme Council and LTC Cyril Santander, the Battalion Commander of the 18th Infantry Army Battalion.

The different agencies and organizations who supported the activity are the Provincial Government of Basilan through the Provincial Health Office, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office and Provincial Disaster Risk Reducation and Management Office, the Basilan General Hospital, 101st Army Brigade, 18th Army Infantry Battalion, Basilan Police Provincial Office, Ministry of Public Order and Safety, National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP); Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE); Technical Education and Skills Development (TESDA); the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE); Catholic Prelatura of Isabela de Basilan; Nagdilaab Foundation Inc.; Isabela Foundation Inc.; University Research Company; JCI Metro Basilan; Eagles BARMM V and BARMM VIII; and Isabela Water District.
