BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - FCF Minerals Corporation has shared its Runruno mine project experience to fellow mining industry stakeholders in Cagayan Valley.

Early this month,  Kasibu-based Oceana Gold Didipio Mine employees headed by lawyer Joan Adaci-Cattiling, president and general manager for external affairs and social performance, visited FCF Minerals Corporation to rake in inputs from the company’s best practices in mining operations, implementation of community development programs and stakeholder engagement.

Also included in their learning visit was the FCF Minerals Corporation’s  implementation of their  environmental programs particularly its Mining Forest Program (MFP) which was hailed recently  as one of the best in the Philippine Mining Industry.

The award was conferred during the Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference in November 15-18, 2022 in Baguio City.

In November 29-30, the community relations team of the Dinapigue Mining Corporation (DMC) with representatives from the different People’ Organizations including the Agta tribe of its impact communities also visited FCF Minerals Corporation as part of their  benchmarking activity to learn from the mine firm’s  best practices in the implementation of its Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) particularly its livelihood programs for its host communities.

During their visit, the DMC visitors were exposed to the various social development projects managed and operated by the community organizations in Barangay Runruno such as the Innovative Runruno Integrate Sustainable Earn from Waste Program (IRISE) which is involved in transforming recyclable materials into hollow blocks, ecobricks and pillows made of plastic.

The products of the Runruno Indigenous Peoples Organization (RIPO) such as the  traditional handloom weaved cloths, Runo Sewing Services, the Kinalabasa Enterprise Development Association, Inc. (KEDAI) with their  meat processing, Runruno Livelihood Development Association (RLDA) - the federation of the 13 Community-based Organizations in the barangay, and the Dumaliguia Farmer’s Association, Inc.
