DOH 6 eyes for stronger ties, public participation to health advocacies in 2023

ILOILO CITY (PIA) -- The Department of Health - Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) 6 views to establish stronger partnerships among its allied agencies and other stakeholders on its intensified health promotion in 2023.

The department likewise enjoins the community to participate in various health-related initiatives that are ongoing and those that are to be implemented.

"Health concerns confront us everyday," DOH-CHD 6 regional director Dr. Adriano Suba-an cited in his keynote speech during the DOH Regional Recognition of Partners and Stakeholders, Dec. 13.

He said that everything in the environment affects our growth and well-being, thus, challenges remain and these keep on evolving.

With this, Suba-an noted that the direction of the program strategies and approaches next year of DOH is geared towards engaging the communities as active partners in health by improving public health and safety behavior, hence,

the need to strengthen its health promotion and advocacies is recognized.

In line with this vision, the DOH has launched its Community Playbook and Health Promotion Action Framework on Drowning Prevention which is one of its first in the entire country.

“The DOH won’t be able to achieve its goals without the support, collaboration, and active cooperation of everyone, from the local government units, provincial, municipal, down to the barangays, including our partner implementing agencies and private sector,” said Suba-an.

Also, he highlighted that the key stakeholders have helped the DOH raise the bar of health program implementation to a higher level and made these practices worthy to be emulated and replicated.

DOH-CHD 6 key officials lead the launching of the Community Playbook and Health Promotion Action Framework on Drowning Prevention in the Regional Recognition of Partners and Stakeholders.

Having shown exemplary performance and outstanding contribution in achieving health program benchmarks and its core objectives, awardees on some priority areas, particularly on Infectious and Environmental and Occupational Health Program, Health Promotion Unit, Health Emergency Management Staff, Family Health and Nutrition Program, Non-Communicable Disease, Health Services Information System, CHD program champions, COVID-19 Prevent, Detect, Isolation, Treat, Reintegration (PDITR) Strategy pioneers, CHD retirees, and Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) were recognized for their support and commitment in realizing the department’s

goals to provide accessible and quality healthcare services across the region.

Finally, Suba-an emphasized one of the objectives of the program which is to inspire others to go beyond better and be the best health leaders and implementers in their areas of responsibility.

He likewise lauded all the healthcare leaders, providers, and collaborating entities for a very productive year and signified the department’s eager anticipation to a stronger partnership and engagement in the years ahead. (JBG/AGP/PIA 6)
