NAGA CITY, Camarines Sur (PIA) – The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Bicol Regional Office, in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Tinambac, extended an early Christmas gesture to approximately 57 fisher folks by handing over fuel subsidy cash cards in a simple ceremony held Dec.14, at the Municipal lobby, Binalay, Tinambac, Camarines Sur.

In the data provided by the LGU’s Fisheries and Coastal Management Office,  the beneficiaries, who are registered fisherfolks, each received a  cash fuel subsidy amounting to Php3,000.00 from BFAR.

There are 122 remaining fisher folks whose applications are still pending approval.

In the LGU’s Facebook page, Tinambac Mayor Atty.Ruel Brioso Tuy said that validation is underway for the remaining applicants

"We are just waiting for the validation to be completed, then we can include the remaining unregistred fisher folks to the second batch of  subsidy fuel cards beneficiaries," Tuy added.

The Chief Executive also thanked BFAR for the said assistance stating that it will help augment the financial  need of the recipients, more so that fuel prices continue to escalate and fluctuate.

The LGU enjoined every Tinambaqueños, whose livelihood depends on fishing, to have themselves registered to receive programs, services and assistance from the LGU and partner agencies. (With reports from LGUTinambac/PIA5/Camarines Sur)
