LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte (PIA) – The state-run Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) opens its trade fair and garden show as part of the monthlong celebration of its 45th foundation anniversary on Jan. 6.
This time, the trade fair and garden show features research-based products and technologies and quality products from returning and new exhibitors.
Considered as a “healthy hub” for Ilokano entrepreneurs, over 120 exhibitors participated in the university’s annual activity.

With a great number of sellers, a wide variety of products ranging from furniture and handicrafts, holticulture and flouriculture nurseries, research-based products and innovations, dry goods an ready-to-wears, to food and refreshments, attract buyers and customers across the province.
During the opening ceremony, Jeremy Balisacan, an agribusiness graduate of MMSU-College of Agriculture and Sustainable Development (CAFSD) and owner and manager of the Agapeland Organic Farm and Learning Center in Batac City served as guest speaker and inspired students in his journey of turning his passion for agriculture into a successful business.
MMSU President Shirley Agrupis lauds CAFSD for successfully spearheading the trade fair and garden show and bringing in more exhibitors this year.

“This is a significant manifestation that we have indeed moved forward, and we continue to do so aggressively. Now at a better position of trust and integrity, MMSU is able to attract more and more partners to be part of our initiatives and celebration,” said Agrupis.
Moreover, she said that the trade fair and garden show is also aimed at stimulating local economy and empowering local entrepreneurs.
“This trade fair is not only a place for socialization, but also promotes livelihood,” added Agrupis.
The public is invited to visit the trade fair and garden show located at the College of Law Grounds and this will run until the end of the month. (JCR/MJTAB PIA Ilocos Norte)
