TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA)--The Local Government of Tubod has distributed relief assistance to families in flood-affected areas here following heavy rains due to the trough of a low pressure area that hit the province, January 2.
Tubod Mayor Dionisio "Jimmy" Cabahug Jr., said they have distributed relief goods to 8,000 individuals or 3,000 affected families. Those homeless families also received materials to rebuild their homes in a new site.
Gibalhin nato sila sa medyo habog-habog na lugar," he said.
(We have already distributed relief goods to about 8,000 people or 3,000 households. There are homeless families, we also provided them with small materials so that they could rebuild their houses, but not in the same area. We moved them to a slightly higher place)
Cabahug also thanked the individuals, groups, organizations, and LGU Nunungan for donating relief goods, used clothes, and other support for the flood-affected families. He also conveyed gratitude to the responders and rescuers during the flood.
As the evacuees have already returned to their homes, the LGU delivered the relief goods to the affected barangays.
Tubod's Acting MSWDO, Jouliet Oraiz, reaffirmed the LGU's commitment to assisting affected residents. She encouraged them to not lose hope and be alert at all times.
(To the people of Tubod, do not lose hope because the Lord has given us strength that we can overcome this. Just don't get complacent, monitor advisories to respond quickly so that nothing gets worse)
