MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA)--The Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental (PGMO) has officially launched its 10th Kuyamis Festival, an annual celebration to commemorate the founding anniversary of the province through its week-long cultural events, contests, and sports cups at the Pelaez Sports Center, January 9.
"Karong tuiga ang Lalawigan sa Misamis Oriental nagselebrar sa iyang 93rd nga founding anniversary, napulo na ka tuig ang nilabay sa pagmugna sa Kuyamis Festival ug nakita nato sa kada tuig nga nilabay nga dili lamang ang katawhan sa Rehiyon 10 o sa Mindanao, kung dili sa tibuok Pilipans naila na kung aha ang Misamis Oriental," Misamis Oriental Board Member Gerard Sabal III said.
(This year, the province of Misamis Oriental celebrates its 93rd founding anniversary. Ten years have passed since the creation of the Kuyamis Festival, and we have seen every year that not only the people in Region 10 or in Mindanao but the entire country now know where Misamis Oriental is)
Coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 restrictions have been eased because of the province's COVID-19 vaccination drive. This year's celebrations include Cagayan de Oro City's first-ever participation and the return of all face-to-face public activities and events.
Sabal said Cagayan de Oro City's participation in the celebrations shows how well the city and the province work together on programs for development.
Key events include the opening of the "Paglaum MisOr-Rise CDO" cup and the first judging of Kuyamis Booths on January 9, the Miss Kuyamis Festival 2023 Coronation Night on January 11, the Street Dancing Competition on January 12, and the closing ceremonies on January 13.

If we can move forward together, we can develop Misamis Oriental into a better place to live). (VPSB/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
