A signal shutdown is also set during the ILOmination Tribes Competition and Parade of Lights on Jan. 21 from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. in Mandurriao District.
Starting Jan. 13 to 22, a gun ban will be imposed in the city, where no one is allowed to carry firearms during these times except uniformed personnel.
Backpacks are allowed, however, they will be checked thoroughly by police officers as part of the security plan.
The ICPO is also expecting additional augmentation force from Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 to help them deter criminalities during the celebration.
Aside from the police force, personnel from the Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Public Safety and Traffic Management Office, Force Multipliers, other volunteer groups, and ROTC Cadets from various colleges and universities will help the police in securing the festival.
Both uniformed and covert police will be mobilized to catch criminals involved in petty crimes and other nefarious activities that could hamper the peace and order situation of the city.
The ICPO has further closely coordinated with the Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. for other security needs.
It is aiming for "zero major crime" incident during the celebration as it placed all its personnel on “full alert” status. (JBG/ICPO/laf/PIA6-Iloilo/Infographics from ICPO)
