LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte (PIA) – The Civil Service Commission (CSC)-Ilocos Norte Field Office is still accepting applicants for the upcoming Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) this March 26, 2023.

According to Lawyer Rex Ami, Director II of the CSC-Ilocos Norte Field Office, they have registered about 2,500 applicants as of January 12.

In the province, the testing centers will be at Ilocos Norte National High School (INNHS) and at Ilocos Norte College of Arts and Trades (INCAT).

“I’ve been coordinating with the two schools and from the information na na-gather ko sa kanila, posibleng we can accommodate more or less 3,000 examinees,” Ami said.

Applicants can submit their documents at the CSC-Ilocos Norte Field Office at No. 7 Giron St., Laoag City.

They are accepting applicants from Monday to Friday, 8a.m. until 3p.m. until January 25, 2025.

Applicants from neighboring provinces are also encouraged to apply at the Ilocos Norte Field Office, especially those who run out of slots in their province.

“We accept applicants even from other applicants from other provinces. Ginagawa na naming ito even before the pandemic, talagang may applicants tayong galing pa sa Cagayan pati sa Pangasinan dahil naubusan na ng slot sa kani-kanilang mga probinsya. Ang patakaran naman namin dito is first come, first serve basis basta kompleto ang kanilang mga requirements, we are going to process their application,” Ami said.

CSC-Ilocos Norte Field Office is also accepting walk-in applicants because they have observed a lower number of applicants in the past two weeks; averaging from 60-100 applicants per day, compared in December when they were recording about 200 applicants per day.

Applicants from the cancelled March 2022 CSE-PPT were given priority schedule on December 14-21, however, according to Ami, they are still accepting refund applications with no cut-off time.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old Filipino citizen; has not been convicted of any offense or crime involving disgraceful or immoral conduct, dishonesty, examination irregularity, drunkenness, or addiction to drugs; have not been dishonorably discharged from military service, or dismissed for cause from any civilian position in the government; and have not taken the same level of Career Service Examination, either through PPT or CSC Computerized Examination (CSC COMEX), within three months before the date of examination.
