BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - To address flooding problems within the town proper, Mayor Benjamin ‘Jamie’ Cuaresma III said a Canal Draining project will be implemented this year.
He said the LGU was able to seek assistance from House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez for the upcoming project fund worth P110 million.
“This will be funded in tranches. With this project, we are expecting a surge in the flow of traffic that is why we are appealing for our villagers’ cooperation and support,” Cuaresma said.
He said the Canal Draining Project involves the construction of a bigger canal that will provide a better flow of water brought by extreme rains and prevent flooding especially in low-lying areas.
“This is one of our priority projects. As you can see, we have conducted declogging activities in our town proper since last year by employing our villagers through the TUPAD Program. This will continue to further address our flooding problem,” Cuaresma said.
He also sought the cooperation and support of the transport sector on the upcoming implementation Canal Draining Project. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
