CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - North Luzon Commander Lt. Gen. Ernesto Torres Jr visited the 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army camp in Gamu, Isabela to bid farewell to his soldiers prior to his retirement.

Division officials, led by B/Gen. Audrey Pasia, provided a testimonial parade and review during the visit of Torres in honor of his contribution and accomplishments in the military service. 

Under Torres' stint, there was a successfully neutralization of 88 members of the Communist Terrorist Groups and confiscation of about 200 firearms.

Torres also led dismantling of East and West Front Committees of Komiteng Rehiyon - Cagayan Valley (KRCV) and the Regional Sentro De Gravidad (RSDG) group.

The declaration of the province of Quirino as insurgency-free province together with the Ilocos Region are also proofs of his leadership. (OTB/MGE  PIA Isabela)
