PLT Gen. Sermonia: Erring cops have no place in the PNP org

AGLIPAY, Quirino (PIA) - - Police Lieutenant General Rhodel O. Sermonia, deputy chief for administration of the Philippine National Police (PNP), in his recent visit to the Quirino Police Provincial Office, said erring police officers or those that are involved illegal activities have no place in the PNP organization

Speaking before the QPPO personnel during the “Talk to Men” program, Sermonia stressed that this is part of the goal of the Secretary of the Interior and Local Government (SILG) for the resignation of the third-level officers just like him, from among the generals, the provincial directors and the regional directors.

The PNP deputy chief for administration has assured all the police personnel  that the program or the call of  SILG, Atty. Benjamin Abalos Jr, to cleanse the PNP ranks,  will be a fair and just assessment by the the 5-members committee.

“We do not know who the members of the panel are but our former colleague in the PNP, Former General  and Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong was already named as part of the 5-man panel and he has assured  all the senior officers in the national headquarters that it will be a fair and just evaluation process, and finally we are going to be victorious in cleansing the entire organization,” Sermonia further said.

During his 'Talk to Men' at Quirino PPO, PLTGEN RHODEL O SERMONIA says that one of his agenda is to ensure the moral and welfare of QPPO personnel.

He also allayed the fears of the concerned officials saying that they have nothing to be scared about so long as they are not doing something illegal.  Those who should be afraid he said are the ones involved in illegal drug activities.

“They don’t have a place in the organization because they are here to serve and protect the people,” the deputy chief said.

PLT Gen. Sermonia has acknowledged the effort of Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines through the leadership of Chairperson and Governor Dax Cua for the support to the call of the SILG saying that it is an opportunity for the PNP to finally cleanse its ranks.

“And in that way, we’ll be able to serve and protect the people that we have sworn to protect and as our hashtag, says, we can proudly say that #LifeIsBeautiful because we are free from crimes, terrorism, and corruption," Sermonia said. (OTGB/TCB/PIA Quirino)
