Dy said the Covid-19 pandemic has resulted to the suspension of celebration for two years but, now, the Bambanti Festival is backed with the active participation of the municipal and city officials.
“This Bambanti Festival is a thanksgiving activity as recognition to the contribution of our farmers on our province’s economic growth wherein the City of Ilagan was declared as corn capital of the country, the town of San Mateo as Mongo Capital of the Philippines and the province with rice surplus where it is supplying rice to Metro Manila,” Dy said.
This year’s celebration commence on January 23, 2023 and will end on January 28, 2023.
Before the formal opening of the 2023 Bambanti Festival, a thanksgiving mass was conducted attended by Provincial, City and Municipal officials from the province.
The Bambanti Village was officially opened through a ribbon cutting led by Vice Gov. Dy and DOT Regional Director Troy Alexander Miano.
Dy, together with his wife Mary Anne Dy, went one after the other in the ribbon cutting to the Bambanti booths where 34 LGUs joined in showcasing their local products and giant scarecrows.
