BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The Nueva Vizcaya Agricultural Terminal (NVAT) is being considered as a pilot area for the Strengthening Enterprises for the Digital Economy (SPEED) Program of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Regional Director Leah Pulido Ocampo said the P1 billion five–year SPEED program aims to enable Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to participate safely, reliably, and competitively in the country’s emerging e-commerce ecosystem.
“This is a new door of opportunity for our NVAT stakeholders. We are calling our NVAT partners to deliver and discuss the good news that they are being considered for this program,” she said.
Pulido said the one billion peso e-commerce initiative was launched in 11 January 2023 as a result of the Supra Consultations Regional Roadshow that was conducted in the Cagayan Valley region in September last year.
She said the SPEED program will help improve and digitalize the logistics and supply chain of food and/or fresh produce from Nueva Vizcaya to other places in the country.
Pulido said an Exploratory Visit of the USAID team will be conducted on January 30 to February 01 this year.
The visit will also include a walk through to the province’s highland and lowland vegetable farms for assessment. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya
