SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) -- Mayor Elmer C. Untaran of this capital town bared the accomplishments of the municipal government, including the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) and the Excellence in Local Governance (EXCELL) awards.

Untaran said that the Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Jose de Buenavista was recognized as a national passer for the 5th time to the SGLG award – the highest recognition conferred by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to LGUs.

Fund Subsidy amounting to P5 million which is intended to fund local priority development initiatives, such as infrastructure projects.

The municipalities of Barbaza, Patnongon and Sebaste, and the Province of Antique were also acknowledged as 2022 SGLG passers.

San Jose de Buenavista was also among the winners of the 2022 Excellence in Local Governance Awards (EXCELL) of DILG Region 6, where it was selected as the 1st Runner-up in the Best Performing 1st-3rd Class Municipality category, Champion in Public Safety, Peace and Order, and Social Governance, 1st Runner-up in Administrative Governance, Economic Governance, and Local Legislation, and 2nd Runner-up in Environmental Governance.
