TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) —The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 2 has released over P27.4 million funds to the Provincial Government of Quirino on January 24, 2023.
The said fund will be distributed to at least 1,070 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program and 352 Government Internship Program (GIP) beneficiaries in the province.
"I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and DOLE Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma for the provision of funds for Quirino beneficiaries. The amount given shall be of great help to our constituents," Governor Dakila Carlo Cua said in his acceptance message.
These programs are part of DOLE’s recovery initiative which provides temporary employment to displace workers and work opportunities to the youth sector as the region tries to recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"These activities once again proved our agency's desire to help and facilitate the employment of vulnerable workers in the region and we again thank our partner Local Government Units (LGUs) for helping us implement these programs for the benefit of the most in-need sectors of the region," DOLE Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales said. (OTB/MJPT/DOLE Region 2)
