Gov. delivers SOPA, seeks continued  cooperation from stakeholders  

BONTOC, Mountain Province(PIA)-- Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan Jr. reported  to the people the achievements of the provincial government for the year 2022  and assured continued support to different sectors  in his  State of the Province Address recently. 

In his SOPA  held at the Provincial Multipurpose Hall  last  January 16, the Governor highlighted  his banner program,” Barangay Muna: Tuloy ang Serbisyo sa Barangay”  which accomplishments  include the provision of  a total of P3.16 million-worth of assistance to  62 barangays  under the subprogram, "Poverty Reduction Program (Assistance to Barangay Development Programs/ Projects)."

Lacwasan reported  other  accomplishments  under  said program,  among them  Assistance to Barangay Health Workers  and Provincial Day Care Workers, Plant, Plant, Plant Program sa Barangay,  Livestock and Poultry Development Program, Students Financial Assistance Program  and Education Support Services Program.

He  mentioned that PLGU provided  educational assistance amounting to P10.1 million  that benefitted   1,021 students. It  also spent P2.7M for education-related activities, supplies, and other relevant programs.

The Governor’s report  also included accomplishments  classified into three sectors namely general public sector, economic sector and social sector.

For the general public sector, he highlighted the accomplishments of all the offices and national line agencies that contributed to the development of the community. He  mentioned  decrease in  crime volume  in the province  due to intensified police operations

For the  economic sector, the Governor narrated  development of infrastructure projects, environmental management, agricultural industry and tourism.

 He cited  six major completed road constructions  including   three  projects under the Support to the Barangay Development Program of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflic   in Brgy. Tamboan, Besao. Eleven ongoing projects are  also expected  to be completed this year.

In terms of support to farmers, the governor highlighted trainings, dispersal of animals, and provision of materials and equipment for farming production. 

For  the social sector, achievements on  disaster risk reduction management, health and nutrition, and assistance by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office were presented.

He assured continuous support to the different sectors.  

 Lacwasan  also   appealed  to the government agency partners, other stakeholders and  to everybody for their  continuous support and  cooperation as together they will catapult the province  to greater heights. (JDP/VJLT-PIA CAR, Mt. Province)
