TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagaayan (PIA) - - The capsule laying and groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the first ever Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program in the Cagayan Valley Region was conducted in Cauayan City.

The activity was simultaneously conducted with the groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of the Batasan Development and Urban Renewal Plan attended by no less than President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr.

In his message, President Marcos said that the housing plight, like any other social issue, can only be addressed through a whole-of-society and a whole-of-nation approach.

“What we are witnessing today is only the beginning of one of the largest projects under the government’s flagship housing program. Slowly but surely, we will be able to achieve our greatest aspirations for the nation, including the dream for a decent and affordable housing for every Filipino family.

The President also underscored that the local government’s role, in particular, is crucial in ensuring the success of all of these projects, especially in identifying suitable lands for housing, selecting the qualified beneficiaries, and securing the sustainability and livability for our people for the next – for the future years to come.

“And just as a point of information, we would like to also announce that this – we are also doing a groundbreaking ceremony, kagaya nito, mayroon din ngayon sa kasalukuyan doon sa Cauayan, sa Isabela. Kaya’t hindi lamang dito sa NCR kung hindi sa iba’t ibang lugar sa buong bansa,” the President mentioned during the event in Quezon City.

On the other hand, Cauayan City Mayor Caesar ‘Jaycee’ Dy Jr said the Cauayan City Housing Project in Cauayan City, Isabela targets to benefit 1,080 families through the construction of nine 5-storey buildings complete with recreational parks and other amenities.

Prior the groundbreaking, the city mayor said they have conducted a site inspection with Asec. Daryll Bryan L. Villanueva of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) in December 2022.

“Taos-puso po akong nagpapasalamat sa ating Presidente, sa grupo ng DHSUD, at we are really leading Cauayan City to have a fruitful and progressive years ahead. Layunin po ng programang itong na makapagbigay ng affordable housing units sa ating mga kababayan sa ating lungsod. Sa programa po na Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH), ito po ay alam natin na makapagsisimula ng magandang ekonomiya sa ating Lungsod,” said Dy.

In attendance today were Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) USec Ar. Henry Yap, ASec Krizzy Crawford, ASec Daryl Bryan Villanueva, DHSUD-2 Regional Director Peter Fraginal, Cauayan City Mayor Caesar Jaycee' Dy Jr, Isabela 6th District Representative Faustino ‘Inno’ Dy V, and other city officials.
