PDEA, PNP seize shabu, marijuana from high-value target

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - Ten pieces of small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected ‘shabu’, and dried leaves with fruiting tops and stalks suspected to be marijuana were confiscated from a 21-year-old during a buy-bust operations in this city.

Identified as Kyle Mathew Pagulayan, the suspect was arrested on January 25 after joint personnel of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Cagayan Provincial Office and City Drug Enforcement Unit of Tuguegarao City Police Station served him warrant of arrest for Violation of R.A. 9165.

Based on PDEA's inventory, the shabu weighing MOL 2 grams has a DDB Value of P13,600 while the marijuana weighing MOL 500 grams has a DDB Value P60,000.

Other materials confiscated from the high-value target suspect were: white folded paper; and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Louella Tomas, information officer, said the search was conducted in an orderly and peaceful manner in the presence of the suspect, suspect's mother, NPS representative and elected barangay official.

The arrested person, together with the confiscated items, is now under the custody of Tuguegarao CPS.

Suspect will be facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
