Army's vice chief commends 55th Engineer Brigade outgoing commander

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The vice commanding general of the Philippine Army lauded the achievements of the outgoing commander of the 55th Engineer Brigade.

During the change of command of the brigade, BGen. Steve Crespillo praised BGen. Irineo Sebastian for running the brigade's operations and making the troopers' lives better.

The Army's vice commander said that, despite the pandemic, the 55th Engineer Brigade has continued to help other army units with engineering work and to help the government with its social and economic programs.

He also talked about how important the army engineering unit led by Sebastian was to the rebuilding of Marawi, especially in the most damaged part of the city where unexploded bombs had to be cleaned up and disposed.

Crespillo also said that Sebastian was in charge of the 55th Engineer Brigade, which helped protect VIPs for Task Force Bangon Marawi and kept the crowds under control during the Task Force's biggest events.

Moreover, the brigade was able to assist in different disaster rescue, relief, and rehabilitation operations that have greatly helped communities. in their area of operations.
