NTC facilitated SIM registration up in Antique

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) - - The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) 6,  in close coordination with the Local Government Unit of Pandan, Antique will conduct the first Facilitated SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) Card Registration in the province on February 10, 2023, to be held at the Liberman Sports Complex of the said town.

NTC 6 OIC-Regional Director engineer Leah Dela Cruz-Doromal, in a media advisory, said that all public telecommunications service providers will be present to assist the SIM card holders.

The public is advised to bring valid identification cards and SIM card/s attached to a cellular mobile device.

Doromal encouraged people from the neighboring areas of Pandan town, including the adjacent municipalities of Aklan, to register their SIM cards with the telecommunication companies that are coming to the event.

NTC hoped to register a good number of clients in Pandan, taking into consideration the increasing trend of registrants since the onsite registration was launched in Western Visayas.

Lawyer Deo Virgil R. Tan of NTC, in an interview, also encouraged everyone to grab the opportunity where telecommunications companies are onsite to assist them.

He likewise encouraged the local media stations to inform people of their compliance with Republic 11934 or the SIM Registration Act.

Accordingly, the deadline of SIM card registration will be on  April 26, 2023. (JBG/PSM/PIA-Antique)
