CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) -- The city government of Calapan led by Mayor Malou Morillo recently inaugurated infrastructure projects such as Health Nutrition Post, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Hall, and e-Library amounting to P800,000 from the barangay fund of Barangay Calero.
Other accomplished projects included in the inauguration were the P4 Million Baywalk funded by the city government with 15 solar-powered street lights amounting to P200,000 from the barangay fund, and Bantay Dagat Station and Road and Drainage Construction-- a P4 million project funded by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) acquired through the intervention of City Vice Mayor Bim Ignacio.
Also present during the event were Barangay Chairman Randy Ahorro and the Sangguniang Barangay, representatives from the Philippine Coast Guard, Calapan City Police Station, and residents of the barangay.

According to Ahorro, there is still ongoing construction of an evacuation center that could be used not only by their residents but also as a stand-by area for rescue boats in times of emergencies.
Moreover, Vice Mayor Ignacio said the city government has been continuously coordinating with the national government to get funds for additional infrastructure projects in Calapan City. (LTC/PIA MIMAROPA)
