ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) -- The local government unit of Dao town was cited the "Balangay Seal of Excellence" by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in recognition of the local government's efforts and initiatives to declare all its 20 barangays as drug-cleared villages.

A rigid and stringent evaluation by the Regional Oversight Committee composed of PDEA, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Health and PNP on the requirements and documents, Dec. 9, led to the declaration of a drug - free status of all the barangays in the municipality.

Dao town has also been a national awardee of the National ADAC Performance Awards of the DILG in November 2022 because of the LGU's Anti-Drug Abuse Council exemplary performance in the campaign against illegal drugs. (JBG/AAL/PIA Capiz)
