Isabela farm laborers to join South Korea farmers internship program

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Provincial Government of Isabela (PGI) will be sending 32 Isabela farmers to Jinan, South Korea for the Farmers Internship Program of Isabela and South Korea for this year 2023.

Provincial Information Officer Atty. Elizabeth Binag said the 5-month internship program which is under the Seasonal Agricultural Sector Development Exchange Program in South Korea aims to learn and adopt the farming techniques of South Korea to be adopted and boost agriculture production in Isabela.

“At least 33 farmers already successfully completed the program in Jinan in October 2022 and currently, there are still 20 farmers in Jinan who were dispatched in November 2022 and will return in Isabela on the third week of March this year,” Binag said.

Binag said that Gov. Rodolfo Albano III considers Farmers Internship Program as a “beacon of light” to Isabela small farmers because it is an opportunity for them to learn agricultural technical skills from more advanced countries and see places, while earning additional income for their families.
