SAN FERNANDO CITY (PIA) –The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office 1 (PSA RSSO 1) is undertaking various strategies to further boost the registration operations on Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) in the Ilocos Region.
According to Chief Administrative Officer Camille Carla Beltran, PSA RSSO 1 implements the mobile PhilSys Registration to make the statistical service more accessible to the public.
“Naglilibot na tayo sa mga bayan-bayan, bitbit ang mga equipment at target natin marating ang kasuluk-sulukan ng rehiyon,” Beltran said during an interview in an episode of Kapihan sa Ilocos.
Also, PSA RSSO 1, in coordination with the Department of Education (Deped) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED), established registration sites across school campuses.
Beltran said this is to reach out for students who were not able to register in the previous years due to the community restrictions brought about by the pandemic.
Further, one of the new strategies being eyed is for PSA RSSO 1 to collaborate with the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
“We plan to partner with the NTC para maisabay natin sa SIM Registration ‘yung PhilSys Registration,” Beltra stated.
She added, “kung saan mag-put up si NTC, makikitabi na tayo para yung mga kababayan natin ay isang lugar nalang ang pupuntahan for both SIM and PhilSys registrations.”
PhilSys Registration booths can also be found in shopping malls and other common crowded places.
As of Feb.5, a total of 3,974,836 individuals have already registered in the system. (JCR/MJTAB/CGC, PIA Region 1)
