MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Seeing the significant and positive contribution she can bring to her fellow siege-stricken Maranaos, Lawyer Maisara Dandamun Latiph, who was hailed as the head of the Marawi Compensation Board, is grateful for her current post, citing that this is a great opportunity to serve in-need residents here.
Before being installed in her present position, Latiph was a Member of Parliament of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA).
On January 31, she then took her oath as chairperson of the Marawi Compensation Board in front of Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
With this, Latiph conveyed her gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for naming her the chief of the board.
She also delivered the same appreciation for all the support she garnered, especially from Senator Robinhood Padilla, Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, and Bersamin.
Latiph underscored that these significant individuals have been instrumental in her appointment.
She particularly cited Padilla as the one who made sure that, through his resolution and legislation in the Senate, the Marawi Compensation Board would be constituted as soon as possible, which was immediately answered by the President.
Latiph is thankful that both of them are working hand in hand for the goodness of the people in this city.
"We would like to thank both of them for working harmoniously together and for putting us here who are now working towards the compensation for the people of Marawi, especially those living in the most affected area and other areas mentioned in the law," she said. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
