SAN FERNANDO CITY (PIA) – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) La Union joins the observance of the National Health Insurance (NHI) Month this month which marks the essential role of social health insurance in the life of constituents.
As per the amended Republic Act 7875, Philhealth, which is the administrator of the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP),led the annual observance in parallel with its 28th anniversary on February 14.
The month-long activity which is anchored on the theme “Pinalawak at mga Bagong Benepisyo para sa Mamamayang Filipino”, echoes its commitment to continuously expand and to make the benefits even more responsive to the changing medical care needs of the Filipino people.
In her message during her inteview over PIA La Union's radio program dubbed 'Tugstugan at Balitaan', Mylain Marasigan, social insurance assistant of PhilHealth La Union, urged PhilHealth members to support its programs to attain its vision: "Bawat Filipino Miyember, Bawat Miyembro Protektado, Kalusugan ng Lahat Segurado."
In her message, Mylain Marasigan, social insurance assistant of PhilHealth La Union, explained,” Ito pong NHIP program ay gina-guide ng isang principle na kung tawagin ay ‘Bayanihan Spirit’ kung saan ay nagtutulungan ang mga age groups, persons of differing health status, and those who are residing in various geographic areas.”
Moreover, Marasigan reiterated impact activities to raise awareness on the NHI month.
“Mayroong spearheading low profile but high impact activities ang PhilHealth such as press conference to announce new and expanded health care benefits for the rollout in 2023 and beyond,” said Marasigan.
PhilHealth urged its members to continue supporting its programs to secure each family’s health and to shield against costly hospitalization.
“Sama-sama po nating kamtin ang ating minimithing ‘Bawat Filipino Miyembro, Bawat Miyembro Protektado, Kalusugan ng Lahat Segurado,” said Marasigan. (JCR/KJCR, PIA La Union)
