CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Isabela through its Consumer Protection Division (CPD) is closely monitoring the prices of basic goods and commodities in retail outlets in the province.
The activity aims to ensure that the right prices of goods and commodities sold to consumers are within the suggested retail price and to avoid overpricing and profiteering.
DTI Isabela Consumer Protection Division Chief Elmer Agorto led the monitoring held on February 15, 2023 in Cauayan City where 20 retail stores were inspected.
Agorto said the retail stores were also provided information materials as reminders to operate fairly, competitively, and responsibly, without resorting to unethical or illegal practices that may take advantage of consumers.
He said the the monitoring activity will continue in the following weeks in other parts of Isabela to ensure that the consumers buy the right price of goods and commodities.
DTI Isabela will continue to pursue these initiatives to protect the interests of consumers and promote fair and responsible business practices. (OTB/MGE / PIA Isabela)
