OIC Schools Division Superintendent Soraya Faculo emphasized in her message the importance of exercise, nutrition, and rest to have a healthy learning institution. She also pushed for strengthened collaboration with partners and stakeholders to enhance OKD programs for healthier behaviors and better learning among learners.
Medical, dental care and nutrition services and activities were conducted to selected grades 1-10 pupils during the kick off program.
Pursuant to DepEd Order No. 28 s. 2018, OKD is the convergence of DepEd’s school health and nutrition programs for their effective implementation at the school level. It highlights the six flagship programs namely the School-Based Feeding Program complemented by other nutrition support programs: Medical, Dental, and Nursing Services including the School Dental Health Care Program; Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in Schools Program; Adolescent Reproductive Health; National Drug Education Program supported by comprehensive tobacco control, and t School Mental Health Program.
