SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union (PIA) – The Civil Service Commission (CSC) Ilocos called for nominations for the search for the most outstanding government workers for 2023.
Chief human research specialist Jerwin Linsangan of CSC Ilocos said the Honor Awards Program (HAP) is an annual CSC activity that aims to recognize government workers who performed beyond job expectations.
“This program is made so that we can give what is due to someone, especially to a public officer or employee who did their job beyond expectations,” Linsangan said.
It is open to all appointed government officials and employees who exemplified outstanding performance in public service except job orders or contract of service employees.
The HAP has three categories which include the CSC Pag-asa award, the Presidential Lingkod Bayan award, and the Dangal ng Bayan award.
The CSC Pag-asa award is given to individuals or groups comprised of five members for outstanding contribution resulting from an idea or performance that directly benefits more than one government agency.
On the other hand, the Presidential Lingkod Bayan award is for individuals or groups composed of five members who have deeds or contributions resulting from a performance that had nationwide impact on public interest, security, and patrimony.
Further, the Dangal ng Bayan award is conferred to individuals who demonstrated extraordinary public service and consistent exemplary ethical behavior based on Republic Act No. 6713 or Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
The CSC encourages all government agencies to submit their nominations.
The nomination started on December 2022 and will end on March 31.
