Zambo City welcomes the rise of second SM mall in ZamPen

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Feb. 23 (PIA) – The City of Zamboanga welcomes the new and second SM Supermall in Zamboanga Peninsula and 8th in Mindanao which will rise soon and targets to open in 2024.

The groundbreaking ceremony was conducted today, February 23 at Nuñez Extension, Zamboanga City, to mark the start of the construction and building the new SM Supermall. Mayor John Dalipe emphasizes that this development is a clear manifestation of progress in the city.

“The opening of SM City Zamboanga demonstrates that the city is prepared and the city is progressing and moving forward to its full potential,” Mayor Dalipe said.

Progress and development are the core values of the present administration and the City Government continuously welcomes additional businesses in the city, “it has been a dream to have more of what other cities have and we are slowly getting to where we want our city to be,” Mayor Dalipe added.

Zamboangeños will expect that the new 4-level SM City Zamboanga mall will rise as a new lifestyle landmark, with its refined and refreshing range of global brands, new dining concepts and leisure attractions built in over 60,000 square meters of premium retail space and will house a State-of-the art SM Cinemas.

With an elevated biophilic design that includes an indoor garden, SM City Zamboanga is poised to bring a modern mall experience that intersects with the region's rich cultural heritage, bringing yet again the best of SM to Zamboanga, making it a gateway for tourism and destination for new lifestyle experiences.

“Rest assured that SM will continue to uphold its commitment in serving Zamboanga City and the whole region, bringing in more business and investment prospects as well as employment opportunities that contribute to the city's continued progress,” said Oliver John R. Tiu, SM Supermalls Vice President for Operations in Mindanao.

The City of Zamboanga continues to attract more investors in the city by being consistent and proactive in boosting the economy that will make Zamboanga City as their investment of choice.
