MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The Ministry of Health (MOH) of the Bangsamoro government inaugurated two newly-built barangay health stations (BHS) at the villages of Barorao in Balabagan town and Salamen in Kapatagan town, this province.

Each BHS was worth P2.5 million and funded under the ministry's Tiyakap Bangsamoro Kalusugan Program.

An additional P500,000 was also provided for equipment.

"Tumatakbo ang gobyerno natin, tumutugon doon sa pangangailangan ng mga Bangsamoro, especially sa health, at laging andito ‘yung ating mga health workers na maglingkod sa ating komunidad," MOH Minister Dr. Rizaldy Piang said.

The BHS will provide services like prenatal care and childbirth for mothers, vaccinations for children, medicines, health education, and more.

"Napakalaking tulong ito (BHS) sa ating mga kababayan dahil ito’y magiging avenue na maka-access sila sa iba’t ibang serbisyong pang-kalusugan," Dr. Alinader Minalang, head of the Integrated Provincial Health Office, said during the inauguration ceremony.

According to Salamen Punong Barangay Belal Beda, the BHS is a big help to their community, especially to sick children and pregnant women, who are far from the hospital.

In 2023, the Ministry of Health (MOH) will build 100 barangay health stations (BHS) across the Bangsamoro region to make sure that every Bangsamoro who lives in a remote area has access to health care.

Minister Piang also said the MOH will build 100 Bangsamoro Health Stations (BHS) across the region this year to make sure that every Bangsamoro living in remote areas will have access to health care. (APB/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
