BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO) here has launched an online payment for Real Property Tax (RPT), a partnership project with the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).

“Using the Linkbizz App of the LBP, RPT taxpayers can directly send their payments to us, especially those Novo Vizcayanos residing and working  abroad,” Rhoda Moreno, provincial treasurer said.

She said the online RPT payment was conceived as part of their innovation to step up their collection of RPT taxes in the wake of the fiscal gap being faced by the provincial government this year.

Moreno said the online payment system was also introduced to address the complaints of RPT payers abroad being victimized by unscrupulous ‘fixers’.

She said the RPT payment through the GCash and PayMaya is also being worked out to give more alternative online payment systems among RPT payers especially those residing and working abroad with tax delinquencies.

“RPT is one of the major sources of income of our PLGU, MLGUs and BLGUs through proper sharing,” Moreno said.

She said the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) has authorized their office to collect RPT delinquencies through a Compromise Agreement Scheme.

“This has been very effective and we do not want to resort to drastic remedies in the collection of our RPTs,” she said. (MDCT/BME/PIA 2 Nueva Vizcaya)
