Over 1,000 indigent patients benefitted from SM Foundation’s medical missions

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - Over a thousand indigent patients from the area of operations of SM City Cauayan and Tuguegarao have benefitted from two separate medical missions conducted by the SM Foundation Incorporated. 

SM City Cauayan Public Relations Manager Krystal Gayle Agbulig said that as part of the corporate social responsibility of the mall through the SM Foundation, the management wants to help the communities nurture their health and wellness by conducting medical missions.

Agbulig said that in SM City Tuguegarao, the foundation extended free medical check-ups, medicines, and vitamins to over 500 patients, extending over 800 services held on March 1, 2023 while 50 beneficiaries availed of the dental services, over 500 had medical consultations and 60 patients received free cholesterol and glucose tests. 

She added that over 80 Tuguegaraoeños underwent free electrocardiogram (ECG) and x-ray tests through SMFI’s mobile clinic. 

In Cauayan City, the SM Foundation conducted the second leg of medical mission held at SM City Cauayan on March 2, 2023. The foundation provided free services to over 600 Isabelenos, 800 medical and dental services—from X-ray, ECG, and cholesterol and glucose tests.

Agbulig said that the SM Foundation expressed thanks to the success of the medical missions particularly MX3-DMIRIE Foundation, Cities of Tuguegarao and Cauayan, Cagayan United Doctors Medical Center, Cagayan Valley Medical Center, Isabela Medical Society, and Red Cross Isabela.
