CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Department of Health - Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development (DOH-CVCHD) in coordination with the Isabela Provincial Health Office set to roll out the supplemental immunization on measles, rubella and polio set for March 1- 31, 2023.
Before the rollout, the DOH-CVCHD and IPHO conducted the first orientation on the said activity to vaccine coordinators and data managers from the province's 37 municipal and city rural health units for the smooth implementation of immunization.
IPHO Provincial Coordinator Dr. Marichu Manlongat said that for the past 5 years, around 3 million Filipino children are projected to be susceptible to vaccine-preventable diseases as a result of low immunization rates nationwide due to competing priorities with Covid-19 pandemic and other multi-factoral causes.
“To strengthen this endeavor, we must establish our outreach services, maximize our resources, analyze our data for proper and prompt action, and reinforce our links between our community, our partners and stakeholders,” Manlongat said.

The CVCHD and IPHO have urged the LGUs, health workers and media partners to support the MR OPV SIA by promoting the Chikiting Ligtas campaign materials such as streamers, posters, tricycle tarps, social media cards and jingle to protect the children from these vaccine-preventable diseases.
