DIPOLOG CITY, Mar. 9 (PIA) - The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) told landowners, who received their certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) during a distribution ceremony held at Dipolog City, today, the inititiaves of the government in providing continuous assistance for farmers under the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos.
Atty. Kazel Celeste, undersecretary of the Field Operations Office of DAR said “we are doing everything that we can to assist our ARBs. Alagaan po ninyo iyan, wag ipagbili. Andito lang po kami para magbigay suporta sa inyo.”
She congratulated the 171 agrarian reform beneficiaries from the 12 municipalities and 29 barangays of Zamboanga del Norte province who received their CLOAs.
Atty. Celeste shared soon the landowners will no longer have to pay for the land with the condonation program DAR has been working on with the Congress.
Late last year, Agrarian Reform Secretary Condrado Estrella III announced billions of pesos worth of liabilities are set to be written off from the proposed measure by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to condone the land amortization fees and interests incurred by agrarian reform beneficiaries.
About 650,000 farmers and agrarian reform beneficiaries in the country stand to benefit from the proposed condonation measure.

DAR Undersecretary for Mindanao Affairs, Amihilda Sangcopan expressed her gratitude to the various stakeholders particularly the local government unit’s support in making the initiative a success.
