Relevant to this, the city government is now awaiting the decision of Malacañang palace for the declaration of the city as an economic zone after it submitted the proposal through the city council.

The soon-to-rise economic zone within the housing community will consist of a convention center, satellite market and jeep terminal, the city administrator said. He added that this area will be a place for more manufacturing companies that may open more jobs for the residents.

In a post, DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar applauded the readiness of Legacion for the immediate commencement of the 4PH implementation. He directed Undersecretary Lyle Pasco to lead ensuing housing-related activities in the city to ensure the continuity of its kick-off operations.

The said department is also tasked to build 1 million housing units annually until 2028 to address the country’s housing backlog pegged at more than 6.5 million units. (PIA5/Camarines Sur)
