NAGA CITY (PIA) – The national housing flagship program of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., called as Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) will soon be launched here in this city, tentatively on March 16, this year.
Under this program, more or less 6,000 families may avail of the amortization of 24 to 30 square meters area over a 30-year period with between P3,000 and P6,000 per month, depending on numerous amenities
City Administrator Elmer Baldemoro told local reporters on Thursday, that Mayor Nelson Legacion's stewardship and political will in bridging more opportunities of growth and development in the city, made it the first selected area in the Bicol region to take advantage of the said program.
Baldermoro said that they have already eyed possible locations for the 10-hectare low cost vertical housing or medium rise condominium. These include the Balatas New Development Area, New Santa Cruz Development, and Brgy. Lerma where the JMR Coliseum, SM City Naga and the Naga terminal are located.

He added that since the housing program aimed not only to build houses but also to provide sustainable livelihood for the residents, the housing project in Naga City would come with different service facilities, infrastructures and other business opportunities. Relevant to this, the city government is now awaiting the decision of Malacañang palace for the declaration of the city as an economic zone after it submitted the proposal through the city council.
The soon-to-rise economic zone within the housing community will consist of a convention center, satellite market and jeep terminal, the city administrator said. He added that this area will be a place for more manufacturing companies that may open more jobs for the residents.
In a post, DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar applauded the readiness of Legacion for the immediate commencement of the 4PH implementation. He directed Undersecretary Lyle Pasco to lead ensuing housing-related activities in the city to ensure the continuity of its kick-off operations.
The said department is also tasked to build 1 million housing units annually until 2028 to address the country’s housing backlog pegged at more than 6.5 million units. (PIA5/Camarines Sur)
