MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The national and Bangsamoro governments are planning to support cooperatives and people's organizations in this area, particularly those with members who experienced the war in 2017.
Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism (MTIT) Minister Abuamri Taddik revealed that he already discussed with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) the funding of Project Bangon Marawi.
He said that the DTI would then give the MTIT a budget of P66 million, and that the MTIT would work with its office in Lanao del Sur province to make sure that the planned effort was carried out directly.
Taddik also said that with the amount they would get, they plan to give cooperatives and people's organizations tools and materials that can be used in any way that makes sense, as well as offer more training and programs to help people make a living.
Noting this good news, he then conveyed his gratitude to the national government for manifesting, even more, its goal of not leaving the siege victims behind.
"First time iyan na bigyan kami ng galing sa national government. Malaki ang pasasalamat namin kasi ang pera na iyan. Ang mahalaga diyan ay marami ang maitutulong niyan kasi isheshare namin iyan," said Taddik in an exclusive interview.
(It would be the first time for us to receive funding from the national government. It is our big thanks for this money. What is important here is that a lot of people will get help because we will share this)
The MTIT director emphasized that as they gave the help to the covered sector, they would keep an eye on the people who got it to make sure their goal was met.
Taddik shared that the fund would be given once the involved parties could officially seal the deal through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
"Ang usapan namin ay ipadala nila ang draft dito para ireview namin sa office ng BARMM. As soon as possible, hindi iyan tatagal (We have already talked, and a draft will be sent here so that our office in BARMM can review it. As soon as possible, that will not take long)," he said.
