MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) has reaffirmed its dedication to complete the rehabilitation implemented in the siege-wrecked city here.
Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Assistant Secretary in-charge for TFBM Melissa Aradanas guaranteed that the government, through the TFBM and its implementing agencies, would keep on backing the restoration efforts until it would be completed and the city would finally be revitalized.
She conveyed that she has already observed significant progress in the city since the 2017 siege, stating that many projects have been achieved and are now enjoyed by the residents.
Aradanas also noted that there are still some projects which they have to give attention to, such as providing and ensuring a clean and sufficient supply of water and electricity in the city, particularly in the most affected area.
She underscored that even with the country transitioning into a new administration, the implementation of the projects did not halt.
“We are still currently monitoring ang kanilang (their) progress at tuloy naman ang kanilang takbo (and they are smoothly running),” said Aradanas.
She likewise cleared that as of the present, they have not talked about dissolving their group.
She bared that they are even determined to have their other assistant secretary, Felix Castro Jr., be retained as the manager of their field office in the city.
Aradanas underlined that their service continues and would not stop, especially since they received a marching order from the DHSUD chief, directing that all the projects under the rehabilitation program must be fulfilled by the end of this year.
“There are 56 implementing agencies kaya lahat iyan ay minomonitor namin. Masyado makulit na kami sa pagpukpok because of the marching order of our Secretary na matapos na ang mga kailangang tapusin dito sa Marawi,” she said.
(There are 56 implementing agencies so we are monitoring all of those. We are consistent in following them up because of the marching order of our Secretary to finish everything that must be done.)
Aradanas also looked forward to having a monthly inspection of all ongoing projects in the city.
The recent inspection they had was on March 7 to 8 this year.
With their reiterated commitment, Aradanas hoped as well that the public would support and unite for the restoration of the destroyed city, and until the place transforms into a peaceful and better locality. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
