DOLE conducts orientation to TUPAD beneficiaries in Calapan

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Provincial Office conducted recently an orientation for its Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) to 1,517 beneficiaries from different barangays in this city.

TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.

DOLE Oriental Mindoro Senior Labor and Employment Officer Ramezes Torres said the beneficiaries will receive P355 per day, equivalent to P3,550 for a ten-day community service in their respective barangays.  The works commence today, March 16.

On behalf of Governor Humerlito A. Dolor, Vice Governor Ejay Falcon said the provincial government has its full support to the program as he further claimed that the program would give a lot of help to all qualified beneficiaries.

TUPAD program in the province is being implemented by DOLE through coordination with the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PPESO) headed by PPES Officer Antonio Magnaye, Jr. and the local counterparts at the city/municipal levels.  (LTC/PIA-OrMin)
